“GENERIC ADMINISTRATOR” brings down the forums

GENERIC ADMINISTRATOR has taken down the Something Awful forums to roll out a supposed “huge patch”! Good to see that he and Lowtax are concentrating on fixing the forums rather than, oh, I don’t know, writing snarky downtime messages.

I will be doing various maintenance on the forums web and database servers in preparation for a fucking giantic new vBulletin patch that will be launching tonight. The forums might intermittently be closed while I get things ready. Please do not email us to tell us the forums are closed. If you must email us anyway, please don’t email us. Please don’t send email. Please uninstall email and unplug the internet and cancel your internet service and destroy your computer and chop off your hands and go to the laundromat with a roll of quarters and get in an unused drier and feed it quarters until you either run out or you melt.

Maintenance Today The forums will be closed so I can roll out a ton of new code. There should not be too much downtime. I’ll post a list of changes after it goes live. If you have any important forums business to conduct, please wrap it up and begin thinking of some ways to stave off suicide.
